To Make An Impact...

I learned today that to make a great impact on the community you are in, and to leave behind a legacy, is not so much about what you do while you are there, but who you leave behind to succeed you.

Instead of being the key piece that holds thing together, will I become nothing so that when I leave, nothing will have changed.

Rather than stepping up and doing something myself, perhaps it will be better to step back and teach two others to do what I could have done.

I know I'm not leaving yet, but what will I leave behind?

Thanks for posting

Thanks to all who post + blog. When I'm sleepy and can't concentrate anymore on work, I read your buzz and feeds from my reader. The short stories you post and articles you put up make me smile, and after a short while, I'm ready to work again.

Difficult

I think for me, its very difficult to be both a Christian and an ECE. Now I'm not saying this is the case for everyone, but right now, at this point in my life, I feel like I can't do the things that I want to do without doing them halfheartedly. Just as a result of not being very good at certain aspects of ECE, it takes me a long time to work through problems and do well in class. On the other hand, theres so much I also want to do in terms of being a part of seeing God's name known on this campus. I know that being an ECE and Christian is not mutually exclusive. Yet, I struggle with finding time to "be both" without finding myself exhausted. My question is this: Is it right to say that my schoolwork comes first? Before I start adding prayer meetings and bible studies and EV to my schedule? Or does priorities mean that I discern what things God is calling me to, and if that means not schoolwork, then allowing ECE to fall by the wayside? If its in God's will, then God will give me the strength to do it. So if I am not given the strength to be an ECE, does that mean it is not God's will?
My thoughts aren't really coherent right now, but thats the gist of my confusion.

Conviction

I think God tends to convict me of my sin sometimes through physical pain. Not to say everytime I hurt myself is a result of sin, but...I always remember getting hurt after screwing up haha. I don't think its correlated, but its a good reminder nevertheless and a strengthening of my conviction!

Realization

I realized randomly today that if I post something on this blog, or in general if other people post something on their blogs, that its a way for people to pray for you, and you to pray for them, without the other person even knowing about it.

I think this is very encouraging!
Maybe I should post more hahaha
